
ONE OF THE highest risk times for young offenders can be when they are finished with their treatment, their sentences are coming to an end and they are going back to the community. Years ago, facilities like McLaughlin Youth Center in Anchorage handed kids a copy of their probation agreement and sent them out the door. Now, facilities start planning for a young person’s transition back to the community as soon as they come in the door.
