What a great idea to have this site and radio show! How about a show on the importance of being engaged in your child's learning and how that looks at different ages?
Talking about raising Alaska's future today!

I have a 10-month-old
When I was 5 months pregnant my coworker suggested that I start looking for childcare. I took forever to enroll at our child care center of choice! Since then I have learned a lot about being part of my child's care taking team so that her daycare takers can do the best job that they can. We try to keep the lines of communication open, and I try not to rush when dropping the baby off and picking her up.
I am now thinking forward to 5 years down the line when my little one will be attending public school. Is there anything that I can do to become involved in my local school before my baby is enrolled?

What a great idea for a show! My daughter just started 1st grade and has homework...and I'm struggling to figure out how active a role I should play in her homework, given that I'd like her to feel more responsible for it than I do.
