After completing a Bachelor's Degree Steve SueWing journeyed to Alaska for the first time in the early spring of 1999. This was to be his last adventure before beginning the rest of his life. Over 12 years later Steve's Alaskan adventure continues now with his partner Susan and young sons Meade and Atlas. Steve enjoys the challenges and rewards of fatherhood and recognizes it is the biggest adventure of his life! Steve is passionate about travel, enjoys time with family and friends, and prioritizes spending time in the outdoors. Steve wants to become a pilot some day!

A native of Haines, Jennifer grew up picking berries in the wilderness, and picking shrimp straight off the boat. A dietitian and mother of 3, she understands the challenge of juggling a busy schedule while trying to provide nourishing food for the family. Jennifer also tries to teach her children that food doesn't originate in the grocery store, and to appreciate the food that Alaska has to offer. This is why her freezer is full of berries, moose, and seafood. She is passionate about cooking and feeding her family, and is excited to share recipes and ideas for feeding your Alaska family!

Laura Sampson, Kids by the Numbers
Laura Sampson lives, loves and writes in the Matanuska Susitna Valley. She shares her life with her husband, three boys, two cats, one mastiff and various farm animals. She loves to cook, garden, read, knit, bike and have fun with her kids. Most importantly she recognizes that the days of a mother are long but the time is short and adjusts her attitude accordingly. Her blog, Hey What's for Dinner Mom? is all about cooking, crafting, thrifting and thriving in Alaska.

Patrick gradutated from Service High School in Anchorage where he was captain of the tennis team and played in the school orchestra. He enjoys hypothesizing about the cosmos and would like to study Aeronautical Engineering in college, followed by joining the Air Force.

Brandy Steinhilber, Set the Table
Brandy grew up in Kentucky as a member of a cooking family. Breakfast, dinner and larger family gatherings always meant sitting together around a table full of good home-cooked food, and she has carried that tradition into her home with her own family. She believes in the importance of family meals as a time to be together and listen to each other. Brandy is an elementary school teacher at the Anchorage Waldorf School, and her hobbies include, knitting, sewing, camping, cycling, skiing, hiking and cooking.

Leslie taught creative writing and business communciations at the University of Alaska Anchorage before moving to Washington DC in late 2011.
